The Supro Story...2014, we got the call from David Koltai, President of Absara Audio (parent to Pigtronix and Supro) to "Re-Imagine" the Supro line of guitars based around our 3D coupling neck joint. Little did we know at the time that the old Supro's had a 2 bolt neck system with a pipe in half-pipe neck connection, definitely rudimentary execution but incredibly progressive for the 50's and totally solid. Not sure who the designers were at Supro back in the day, but I tip my hat to those guys. They had great ideas and were cutting edge. Their pickup designs were spot on. Just brilliant. ...and Resoglass! Puhlease!!!
So we were tasked to keep the vibe of the vintage instruments and create a modern super-player with a great neck and unhindered fret access. At the heart of the vintage instruments were the electronics. The pickups are single coils with a completely different design than what has become standard with the Fender designs. They are raunchy like a P90 but with more fidelity and a better EQ response - and dead quiet! Ken @ Roadhouse Pickups literally resurrected the old Supro designs and raised the bar as far as build quality goes. Email him and get a set. Anyway, these guitars are fun to play and inspiring. Check'em out! |

Story:Same as abobe. This is a mahogany variant with the super smooth Hipshot Contour Trem that works on ball bearing style attachment. The smoothest trem ever invented! This is production spec and the only variants are the fingerboard and body woods...being upgraded over what is offered standard. Has a TechnoSky Orange finish that is sanded and silky smooth to the touch...very similar to the feel of a James Tyler (another great builder) guitar.Again, same deal as above, if you play a chimey rig or have lots of "clean distortion," you should not pass this up. The Kingston Pickups are insane for this. Has our Progressive Asymmetric Classic neck, which is our middle thickness offering. Here is your chance to own a step up from what is in production in Korea. Top notch lumber selections and masterbuilt. Killer Axe. Price: $3500Inquire about Purchase |

Story:This is probably our finest spec'd Supro to date. It is a variant with a mahogany body and ebony fingerboard. It also has a 1/8" thicker body than standard (1.5") and has a tummy contour that blends with the bevel that goes around the edge...a nice refinement. This is also an OZ-3 with custom Roadhouse Kingston pickups that have the center screw removed to keep it as classy as possible.Plays very fast and articulately with the ebony. Beautiful cleans and highly defined OD tones. Also gives you the Kingston notch positions which the OZ-2's don't give you. Everyone who has played this guitar has loved it.
